A New Arrival
March/April 2009
The past few months have been extremely busy. In addition to working on tracks for my new disc and preparing for the 2009 summer concert season, I have also been working on a little side project with my lovely wife Holly. Dylan Morgan Duke was born on January 31 2009 at 12:17pm, 7lbs 1oz. She is pink and wiggley, and shares her mother's good looks as well as my love of eating in bed.
____DEPARTURE
Carlton Miles's sudden and tragic departure has left a huge whole in Raleigh/Durham arts & music, as well as in the lives of all those who knew him. He was an invaluable instrumentalist, vocalist, and collaborator. Those who didn't know him, can hear him on my 2008 release Adriatica. You can't miss him, as his voice is the foundation of all the background vocals and it permeates every performance with his great love and craft. I could write an entire book about Carlton, but for this, I will only say that his friendship is irreplaceable. (His family requests that you remember him with a donation to the American Diabetes Association.)
